In the search for the next ISP featured game I came across Catapult For Hire while browsing Indiegames.com. This game is reminescent of N64 games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Worms or Pilotwings and boasts features such as hidden challenges and puzzles, as well as campaigns to Colosseum events like target toss and catapult golf to name a few.
You play as Sir Knottingsforth who is a freelance catapultist that is free to pursue his passion since the collapse of the medieval economy that was caused by the greed of the King-Lords.
I had a chance to catch up with creator Tyrone Henrie during the week:
Q) What was your inspiration behind CFH? http://www.catapultforhire.com
A) At my old job I suddenly got obsessed with making a game. I was thinking about possible games to make constantly. One of those ideas was a catapult game. I thought that a stationary catapult would get boring quickly so I was trying to think of a way to have the catapult in various environments. Eventually I realized that a freelance catapultist was the perfect conceit to allow for catapulting in any situation.
Q) When do you anticipate a beta and will it be only open to those donating through your Kickstarter page? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tyronehenrie/catapult-for-hire
A) The beta should be available sometime in August. It will be going out to backers first and I will probably add more people later on.
Q) When is the anticipated release for the game?
A) I’m hoping to be done this November!
