New this week on Indie Saturday Premiere - Jazzpunk

Necrophone Games upcoming Adult Swim Game called Jazzpunk is a first person comedy adventure game set in a 1960s cold war / spy fiction world with lots of weird gadgets and espionage based game play. The dev's drew their inspiration from comedy spoofs like Airplane and the Naked Gun series to name a few.

The game play I was able to find and share makes it look like it will be one hell of a fun ride. Between the 2013 PAX interview  which showcases the gameplay and the trailers I came across, this game has now made its way on to my "must have" list for this years titles.

Check after the break for the full story and links to videos, the game and more.

The first trailer has a Johnny Neumonic meets Matrix feel to it with the head plug / jack in referenes right down to Keanu Reeves "whoa" that has been in more then one of his movies.

In this second trailer the Hunter S Thompson char resembles Johnny Depps character in Fear and Loathing. It also shows exploding sheep  ... who doesn't like exploding sheep?

When the  Independant Games Festival Awards released its finalist list (see below) for the upcoming March 19th show this game was not only nominated for the Seumus McNally Grand Prize but they also had an honorable mention for excellence in audio. It's set  to release on Feb 7th thru Steam and you can preorder at http://jazzpunk.net for $15.00.
