New this week on Indie Saturday Premiere - Psychotropic Remedy

Founded in 2011 by current members Rob Whitt (guitar) and John Ward (bass) as Unit 08 these hard working metal heads from Mount Airy North Carolina have made it a point from day one to sound different from other bands yet still be audibly acceptable by multiple audiences. In 2012 Cody Taylor (drums) and Matt Higgins (vocals) joined the band the name was switched to Psychotropic Remedy and the rest is history.

I had a chance to catch up with Jonathan:

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

We are influenced by a variety of diverse groups. For example: Fear Factory, Biohazard, Machine Head, A Day to Remember, Motionless in White, Acacia Strain, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Prong and Suicidal Tendencies to name a few.
We try not to force songs when they are written. Mostly it is just off the top of our heads. It all depends on the mood we are in and what emotions are going on in each of us at the time.

What can fans expect for 2014?

In 2014 we are going to be working on some new songs and possibly a new recording.
