Soapbox Arson is one of those bands that stand out in the Indie crowd. Josh has one of those powerhouse voices that grabs your attention with edgy songs like Heisenburg to power ballads like Scar. You can feel the energy pumping through your speakers as you crank them up to 11. Their sound will have you rocking and is reminescent of bands like Jerry Cantrell, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.
I've had a chance to catch up with Frontman Josh:
What brought you guys together as a band?
The four of us started a band together 10 years ago and after a long year of lots of partying, a divorce, and an arrest with very few shows we broke up. We got back together at the end of December 2013 with new music a lot more talent but the same great chemistry and a new name.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Our inspiration as far as music goes is a collaboration of many influences such as Tool, Rush, Queen, Pantera, Chevelle, Led Zeppelin stuff like that. Lyrically I draw from whatever emotions I'm feeling while the song is being written.
What can fans expect for 2014?
We played our first show in January 2014 so I'd say this year is going to be all about establishing ourselves as a great band in the local scene and continuing to write and record.
If you're in North Carolina and get a chance to catch them live be sure to tell them who sent ya! Keeo up with these guys on Facebook.
